Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this BulletProof Hitches Adjustable Mud Flap System. Now, I do wanna point out at the beginning of our time together that I have the driver's side mud flap in the proper orientation with the smooth side out. However, on the passenger's side, I do have the mud flap flipped over, so we can take a look at the inside of the flap, and we'll take a closer look at that momentarily. Now, this system is going to do a great job of protecting your truck and towables from damage that can be inflicted by flying rocks or debris while maintaining the factory appearance of your vehicle. This is going to work great when you're towing a boat or a snowmobile or an ATV or a 5th wheel or a travel or horse trailer.

This system is going to also guard against back splash with the channels that we have here on the inside of the mud flap. Those channels are actually going to direct the flow of water downward. And you can use this system when you're towing, and then take them off when you're not towing. That's one of the nice things about this system, it's not a permanent install, they can be installed and removed easily, depending on your application, and there's not gonna be any drilling or welding required with this system. So that's really a strength that this system provides.

Now, this is going to mount near the bumper, yet far enough away from the rear wheels to provide a wide range of protection. And this system is going to fit most SUVs, vans, RVs, full-size, and dually trucks with a two inch, 2 1/2 inch, or three inch trailer hitch receiver and ball mount. And you'll just slide this center hub with the appropriate adapter onto the shank of your two inch, 2 1/2 inch, or three inch ball mount or tow bar, and those items, of course, are sold separately. And then you're just going to tighten this down with these set screws. And I do wanna point out that I do have this mounted on my example of a trailer hitch receiver.

As you can see, I'm not using a ball mount and I don't have this installed on the shank of that ball mount. I actually have it on the trailer hitch receiver here just so you can have a clear view of the center hub. So when you install this, you will install this on the shank of your ball mount or tow bar, and then you'll use the appropriate adapter to get you that tight fit, and then just tighten it down with those set screws. To use the system, there must be at least one inch of clearance between the back of the ball mount face and the trailer hitch receiver opening. And this system is very customizable to fit your specific vehicle specifications for a perfect fit and maximum coverage.

Now, the vertical adjustment with these arms are going to enable you to maintain a consistent ground clearance, no matter what type of loads you're hauling. And then the horizontal adjustment with these support rods are going to allow these mud flaps to fit the width of most trucks that this is going to be mounted on. Now, this does have a adjustable width from outside to outside from 73 1/2 inches all the way up to 97 1/2 inches. And for our demonstration purposes here, I have this adjusted from outside to outside right at about 77 inches just so you have an idea of the width that I have this set at right now. Now, let's take a closer look at this mud flap. The 3/8 of an inch thick mud flap here is constructed of rubber. It's heavy duty, it's gonna hold up really well against rough conditions, and this is 24 inches wide and 24 inches long. However, the length of these mud flaps can be modified, again, to give you that custom fit that you are looking for. And so, to adjust the mud flaps, it's going to be very easy. What you wanna do is you want to, of course, measure what you need this flap set at. And then you're going to use the pre-cut lines and you're gonna use the set of pre-cut lines that's going to best fit that length that you are looking for. And you'll wanna use a straight edge to lay across the mud flap and then take a razor blade knife and then cut through the pre-cut lines here to get through that mud flap. And you're going to have to probably go through this several times to get your knife through this thick mud flap. And then once you have this cut the way that you need it, at the length that you need it, you are then going to take the punch that's included with this system here, and you're going to use that punch in these pockets here to clear out the holes that you are going to need for the hardware. So it's going to be a very simple adjustment process, and you're gonna have the hardware and the punch that you need to not only clear out the holes, but then you're just going to reuse that hardware through the new holes that you make. So it's gonna be a very easy adjustment for you, and you'll be ready to install that mud flap when you have that length cut that you need for your particular application. Now, this is a durable construction, and all the components are gonna be very durable and lasts you a long time. BulletProof Hitches is a company that I'm a pretty big fan of.
